Overview
Material Studies is an editorial photography project created for Aera Objects' latest collection, exploring the relationship between material, light, texture, and form.
Challenge
Conventional product photography made Aera's minimal objects feel flat and overly commercial. The challenge was to capture their physical qualities beyond a traditional catalogue.
Our Approach
We approached the collection as a visual study using controlled lighting, tactile surfaces, close compositions, and unexpected framing to highlight each material.
Outcome
The project produced a flexible image library for the website, launch, social channels, print, and editorial features while giving the collection a visual identity of its own.
